This function is useful if you need to send a large archive file using email or if you wish to burn a file on a CD, that is larger than the space available on the media.
As there is no standard for cutting zip files, archive file split by Backup2005 Pro is not compatible with other zip applications, but this function can be used with any other archive file.
The archive file indicates the file to be split. Click the small folder button to browse your computer and pick the file. You can get information about this file by clicking the small Information button.
Indicate the destination file. Click the small folder button to browse your computer and pick a destination folder with a file name. An existing file can't be used as destination file.
Set up the size of each part. Default value is 102.400 bytes. Don't use a too small a size (e.g. 1Kb)
If you wish, the original file can be removed on successful completion.
When you are ready press the OK button.
This function uses a temporary folder (the one provided in the Standard Profile dialog box, or the standard Windows Temporary folder), so when splitting a very large archive file you must ensure that enough free disk space is available.
